I am SO joining this!

I'm a hardcore HvZ player and have an enormous knowledge of Nerf guns and their modification.

Gonna go make a character now...

Awesome! :D I'll be counting on your amazing first-hand knowledge, as I never played Assassin or Humans Vs Zombies.

?I wish I did, though. :(

Sure. I can help you in particular with your character's loadout; tell me their style and I'll build a full weapons set for them.

Also, they're both amazingly fun. Although HvZ can be very tiring...

My character's quick, on the move. doesn't want to carry too much weight. Need any other info?

I can tell. :O

Figures this belongs to Jay. lol
Just like the theme song, I can't decide....if I should join this or not that is. I have a charcter that could easily work for this with some slight modifications. Downfall is that I am not sure if I will be able to stay in with starting college in spring.....hmmmm....Might as well. If nothing else I can have my character transfer out of the school if I have to leave.
So, yeah, I am going to make a character fairly quick-ish.

Steelers, Patriots Face Off In Key AFC Matchup

-- If the Patriots are the NFL's team of the last decade, the Steelers are a close runner-up.

Indeed, Pittsburgh has won two Super Bowls since the Patriots last grabbed the title. Since 2005, the Steel Curtain owns three AFC crowns to one for New England.

But the Patriots (5-1) have won three of the last four meetings and Tom Brady nearly always outplays Ben Roethlisberger when they face off. New England is 6-1 against Pittsburgh when Brady starts, and he is averaging 286 yards passing a game with 14 touchdowns against three interceptions versus the Steelers.

Even when the Steelers have been strong on the turnover charts, it hasn't helped much against Brady and Co. Now, Pittsburgh (5-2) is at the bottom of the conference with a minus-9 differential and has a measly three takeaways. That must change Sunday at Heinz Field when the 3-point favorite Patriots visit.

"I've been here for most of those losses, (Brady) has had our number," linebacker Larry Foote said. "We have to try and correct that this Sunday."

It is no easy chore, particularly with AFC East leader New England coming off a bye. Still, the Patriots are struggling on defense, Brady has been sacked 11 times and thrown eight picks. Pittsburgh has 17 sacks and has won three straight to take the AFC North lead.

"They don't dance around. They're not finesse whatsoever," Patriots defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth said. "Everybody runs hard. They don't mind hitting. They like to hit. It's a very physical team. More physical than we have seen this year."

And New England is more potent offensively than anyone the Steelers have seen, ranked first in yards passing and overall offense and averaging just under 31 points a game.

"They are doing what they usually do," Pittsburgh coach Mike Tomlin said.

Which means beating the Steelers.

PATRIOTS, 30-23

Miami (plus 10) at New York Giants

We get the feeling last week's collapse will carry over for woeful Dolphins. Giants getting healthy after bye.

BEST BET: GIANTS, 28-10

Cincinnati (minus 3) at Seattle

Tough week to find an underdog we project to win outright.

UPSET SPECIAL: SEAHAWKS, 17-16

Dallas (plus 3 1/2) at Philadelphia

Huge NFC East matchup that could determine future of division.

EAGLES, 24-23

San Diego (plus 3 1/2) at Kansas City, Monday night

Have to like the way Chiefs turned it around despite major injuries.

CHIEFS, 21-20

Buffalo (minus 6) vs. Washington at Toronto

Things are falling apart in DC. A trip to the Great White North won't help.

BILLS, 27-17

Cleveland (plus 9 1/2) at San Francisco

Niners have kind of schedule that could earn them a bye if they stay on track.

49ERS, 20-6

Arizona (plus 13) at Baltimore

Angry and embarrassed Ravens are more fierce than these Cardinals.

RAVENS, 22-7

Indianapolis (plus 9) at Tennessee

Both teams come off humiliations. Titans more likely to bounce back.

TITANS, 24-13

Jacksonville (plus 9 1/2) at Houston

Banged-up Texans got possible season-defining win last week. Jags impressed against Ravens.

TEXANS, 26-13

Minnesota (plus 3 1/2) at Carolina

Newton vs. Ponder. Go with the more-veteran rookie.

PANTHERS, 27-16

New Orleans (OFF) at St. Louis

Too bad this is off the board (Sam Bradford's injury); would've been Best Bet.

SAINTS, 38-13

Detroit (OFF) at Denver

No line because of Matthew Stafford's right ankle injury. Shaun Hill is a decent backup.

LIONS, 23-20

___

RECORD:

Against spread: 8-4-1 (overall 59-38-3); straight up 9-4 (overall 71-32).

Best Bet: 2-5 against spread, 4-3 straight up.

Upset Special: 6-1 against spread, 4-3 straight up.

Editor's Note:
This product has not yet been tested. The following description is based on information provided by the manufacturer.

rubiTrack ($38.99) is a robust exercise journal for the Mac that lets you keep track of all your physical activity, using data from other GPS-enabled exercise devices you might own from Garmin, Suunto, and other fitness-tracking makers. The Mac app lets you display, analyze, and organize your indoor and outdoor workouts for a variety of sports, from running, to cycling, to skiing.

The program stores all your activities and displays them graphically to help you analyze the details and compare exercise regimens or activities side-by-side. rubiTrack also can display certain activities?like running, hiking, and cycling?on a map so you can plan future routes or stick to the ones that are most effective for training. Another feature of the Mac app is it has the ability to keep track of the equipment you use: if you tend to wear out running shoes every 500 miles, you can track the progress with rubiTrack.

Recently, the app added an athlete log feature, a new way to track fitness in relation to body weight, resting heart rate, maximum and recovery heart rate, body mass index (BMI), body composition (muscle mass and fat), and measurements.

rubiTrack is compatible with Garmin Forerunner 610, 210, 310XT, 410, 405, 305, 210, the Garmin Edge 800, 500, 705, 605, Suunto T6, X9, X10 (requires Suunto Movescount account and Suunto Moveslink app), and many other devices. The athlete log syncs with the Withings WiFi body scale and imports existing data from different file formats including custom CSV.

India shuts server linked to Duqu computer virus (Reuters)

(Reuters) ? Indian authorities seized computer equipment from a data center in Mumbai as part of an investigation into the Duqu malicious software that some security experts warned could be the next big cyber threat.

Two workers at a web-hosting company called Web Werks told Reuters that officials from India's Department of Information Technology last week took several hard drives and other components from a server that security firm Symantec Corp told them was communicating with computers infected with Duqu.

News of Duqu first surfaced last week when Symantec said it had found a mysterious computer virus that contained code similar to Stuxnet, a piece of malware believed to have wreaked havoc on Iran's nuclear program.

Government and private investigators around the world are racing to unlock the secret of Duqu, with early analysis suggesting that it was developed by sophisticated hackers to help lay the groundwork for attacks on critical infrastructure such as power plants, oil refineries and pipelines.

The equipment seized from Web Werks, a privately held company in Mumbai with about 200 employees, might hold valuable data to help investigators determine who built Duqu and how it can be used. But putting the pieces together is a long and difficult process, experts said.

"This one is challenging," said Marty Edwards, director of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Industrial Control Systems Cyber Emergency Response Team. "It's a very complex piece of software."

He declined to comment on the investigation by authorities in India, but said that his agency was working with counterparts in other countries to learn more about Duqu.

Two employees at Web Werks said officials from India's Department of Information Technology came to their office last week to take hard drives and other parts from a server.

They said they did not know how the malware got on to Web Werks' server. "We couldn't track down this customer," said one of the two employees, who did not want to be identified for fear of losing their jobs.

An official in India's Department of Information Technology who investigates cyber attacks also declined to discuss the matter. "I am not able to comment on any investigations," said Gulshan Rai, director of the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team, or CERT-In.

    UNLOCKING THE SECRET

Stuxnet is malicious software designed to target widely used industrial control systems built by Germany's Siemens. It is believed to have crippled centrifuges that Iran uses to enrich uranium for what the United States and some European nations have charged is a covert nuclear weapons program.

Duqu appears to be more narrowly targeted than Stuxnet as researchers estimate the new trojan virus has infected at most dozens of machines so far. By comparison, Stuxnet spread much more quickly, popping up on thousands of computer systems.

Security firms including Dell Inc's SecureWorks, Intel Corp's McAfee, Kaspersky Lab and Symantec say they found Duqu victims in Europe, Iran, Sudan and the United States. They declined to provide their identities.

Duqu -- so named because it creates files with "DQ" in the prefix -- was designed to steal secrets from the computers it infects, researchers said, such as design documents from makers of highly sophisticated valves, motors, pipes and switches.

Experts suspect that information is being gathered for use in developing future cyber weapons that would target the control systems of critical infrastructure.

The hackers behind Duqu are unknown, but their sophistication suggests they are backed by a government, researchers say.

"A cyber saboteur should understand the engineering specifications of every component that could be targeted for destruction in an operation," said John Bumgarner, chief technology officer for the U.S. Cyber Consequences Unit.

That is exactly what the authors of Stuxnet did when they built that cyber weapon, said Bumgarner, who is writing a paper on the development of Stuxnet.

"They studied the technical details of gas centrifuges and figured out how they could be destroyed," he said.

Such cyber reconnaissance missions are examples of an increasingly common phenomenon known as "blended" attacks, where elite hackers infiltrate one target to facilitate access to another.

Hackers who infiltrated Nasdaq's computer systems last year installed malware that allowed them to spy on the directors of publicly held companies.

In March, hackers stole digital security keys from EMC Corp's RSA Security division that they later used to breach the networks of defense contractor Lockheed Martin Corp.

Researchers said they are still trying to figure out what the next phase of Duqu attacks might be.

"We are a little bit behind in the game," said Don Jackson, a director of the Dell SecureWorks Counter Threat Unit. "Knowing what these guys are doing, they are probably a step ahead."

(AP) ? Elton John says politics have divided the United States, but he singled out one politician during his foundation's annual benefit as an example for others to follow.

The British singer praised New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo at Wednesday night's 10th annual Enduring Vision gala for the Elton John AIDS Foundation.

John thanked Cuomo for "taking a stand in New York and making the dream of marriage equality a reality in the state." The governor was seated in the audience.

In July, New York became the sixth U.S. state to recognize same-sex nuptials.

The benefit raised $2 million for John's foundation.

Alec Baldwin, Jon Bon Jovi and Sarah Ferguson were among the celebrities in attendance.

Motorola Mobility 3Q net loss narrows

(AP) ? Motorola Mobility, which makes cellphones and cable set-top boxes, says its third-quarter loss narrowed as it shipped more phones than it did a year earlier.

Motorola Mobility Holdings Inc. reported a net loss of $32 million, or 11 cents per share. This compares with a loss of $34 million a year ago, when the company was still part of Motorola Inc. That company split into two January.

Excluding one-time items, the company earned 12 cents per share. This is double what analysts polled by FactSet expected.

Revenue rose 11 percent to $3.3 billion, slightly lower than analyst estimates. The company shipped 11.6 million phones during the quarter, 4.8 million of them smartphones. It shipped 9.1 million phones, including 3.8 million smartphones, a year ago.

"Doomed from birth" killer should be spared death: lawyer (Reuters)

NEW HAVEN, Conn (Reuters) ? Joshua Komisarjevsky was "doomed from birth," his lawyer on Tuesday told a jury that convicted him of a murderous home invasion and will now decide whether he should be punished with the death penalty.

Komisarjevsky, 31, was convicted of murdering Jennifer Hawke-Petit, 48, and her daughters, Hayley, 17, and Michaela, 11, and beating unconscious Dr. William Petit Jr. at their Cheshire home. Hawke-Petit was strangled and the girls, tied to their beds, died of smoke inhalation after the home was set on fire.

His accomplice, Steven Hayes, was convicted separately and sentenced to death.

As the penalty phase of Komisarjevsky's trial began on Tuesday, Petit, the lone survivor of the 2007 attack, left the courtroom. Petit was a constant presence throughout the first part of the trial, which ended October 13 when the jury convicted Komisarjevsky of 17 counts of murder, arson, kidnapping and sexual assault.

The defense asked the same jury on Tuesday to consider the odds stacked against Komisarjevsky throughout his life - particularly sexual abuse as a child - in order to understand why he should be spared from death row, where Hayes now sits.

Komisarjevsky should be sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole, said lead defense attorney Jeremiah Donovan.

"He was doomed from birth," Donovan told the jury.

Born into a family with psychological problems including bi-polar disorder, Komisarjevsky was then adopted in infancy by a family with extreme evangelical beliefs, his lawyer said.

"Anyone who does not accept Jesus the exact same way they did was an influence to be avoided," Donovan said.

One of the most traumatic events of his life occurred after adoptive parents Ben and Jude Komisarjevsky took in a 15-year-old foster teen, who sexually abused 4-year-old Joshua Komisarjevsky.

"He burned him with cigarettes and otherwise terrorized this small child," Donovan said. "Joshua lived in fear."

Because of the family's rigid religious beliefs, the sexual abuse haunted him throughout his life, his lawyer said.

"He saw himself as a sinner because of the sexual activity thrust on him," he said.

When Komisarjevsky started spying on neighbors, stealing and setting fire to a gas station, his parents relied on evangelical theology rather than psychiatry and psychology to help their troubled son.

"They kept it all a secret. They didn't believe in counseling."

He was home schooled and kept away from "outsiders" who could have helped him with his problems, his lawyer said.

When authorities sent him to a Connecticut home for juvenile delinquents, counselors advised psychiatric counseling and medication to treat his depression.

His adoptive parents were able to transfer him to a faith-based treatment center in New Hampshire after his mother said she would consider medication for him. The family moved to a religious community.

"There was no counseling, no analysis" at the New Hampshire center, Donovan said. "They were just trying to get him back to God."

Prosecutors waived their opening statement in the penalty phase of the trial, launching their case by presenting evidence of Komisarjevsky's criminal record -- three burglary convictions in three towns, including Cheshire in 2002.
